To correlate life and chess and to create awareness on the 44th Chess Olympiad conducted for the first time in Chennai, India an Intra-school chess competition was conducted for the students of classes VI to VIII.
Around 19 students participated and three rounds of 20 minutes each was conducted. Teams were selected in lot system. It was fabulous to see the forethinking of kids, an essential quality to face life.
Ms. Mary Asha, Vice Principal, kick started the competition by wishing the students.
Ms. Shalini Nair, the Principal, and Ms, Mary Asha, the Vice Principal, addressed the children about the game of chess and gave the trophy to the winners.
Kendra won first place, Kumaran and Saiashwath shared second place, and Gurudeep, Divyadharshini and Roudran shared the third place.
KGA's Kings of Chess won the trophy.
