Art - reverence for life!
Education in the arts is just as important, if not more so than merely academic or athletic training. Spic Macay was launched at Kikani Global Academy with a mesmerising dance performance by the renowned Kathakali Dancer Shri Kalamandalam MPS Namboodiri with the intention of passing down the cultural legacy to our young children and allowing them to experience the mysticism embodied in the Indian Heritage.
Shri Kalamandalam MPS Namboodiri, Mr. Tushar Kikani, Correspondent, Mr. Pradeep Kikani, Trustee, Ms. Shalini Nair, Principal, Ms. Asha Mary, Vice Principal, Ms. Booma, Coordinator, and Ms. Preethi, Coordinator lit the ceremonial lamp to start off the ceremony. The correspondent, Mr. Tushar Kikani, encouraged the pupils to become proficient in many art forms depending on their individual inclinations.
Ms. Shalini Nair elaborated on the importance of art in children's holistic development in her welcome speech and praised the CBSE's recent initiative to integrate art into education, not only for fun and hands-on learning but also to forge a strong connection between Indian culture and our young people.
The team delivered a revolutionary repertoire of sacred dance that transported the audience into an ecstatic condition with their profound understanding and knowledge of the "Kathakali" dance heritage.
The audience was transported to another mysterious spiritual level by the astonishing spins, superb footwork, and delicate "mudras." The group of accompanist instrumentalists enhanced the performance's divinity.
In her interactions with the audience, Namboodiri discussed Kathakali and exhorted all the pupils to learn one or more dance styles.
The children were completely mesmerised and delighted by the subtleties of the "Kathakali" dance form, which gave them an insightful look into the holy world of Indian culture and gave them the desire to explore this enduring field of the arts.
Giving gifts of gratitude to the chief guest and all the musicians brought the ceremony to a close.
Let's preserve the ancient art form among our youth and safeguard the honour of our indelible Indian heritage.
